A Look at The White Wolf of Icicle Creek

HeRinteractive's 16th game in the Nancy Drew Adventure series is The White Wolf of Icicle Creek, abbreviated ICE. It's a pretty good game, specially if it's winter. ;)

HeR's own site says "Nancy Drew travels to the Canadian Rockies to investigate the Icicle Creek Lodge. Chantal, the owner of the lodge has asked her to uncover the culprit behind a recent string of suspicious accidents. A wolf also appears at the site of accidents and then mysteriously disappears when the police arrive. As Nancy makes her way to the lodge, an explosion rocks the night. A wolf howls mournfully in the distance. Nancy has barely set foot on the premises and already trouble is afoot! Can Nancy solve this mystery before all the guests leave and Chantal is left out in the cold?"

...And that's pretty much it. Of course, then you get into the heart of the game, which manages to crams in everything from a snow ball fight to almost dying from hypothermia. Personally I've always thought the best part is the wolf, though:

Random Fact

This time of year things are pretty slow in the world of Nancy, Frank and Joe, at least from the fans point of view. While HeRinteractive works on new games for us to enjoy, and Carolyn Keene and Franklin Dixon ghostwriters work diligently on the new series Nancy Drew Diaries and the Hardy Boys Adventures, we have to sit back and mull over the older books and games.

I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, in fact I really enjoy having a marathon and going through all the Nancy Drew games before the newest release. But in the process, you often find bizarre, comical, and enjoyable little things. So I’m launching a new blog series: Random Fact, In which I’ll point out a random thing from one of the many Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys resources. I’m going to try to this as a weekly thing, but probably not on any specific day. ^.^

For this week, I’m going to mention a rather random thing I found out about a month ago on the Nancy Drew Sleuths site. Thanks to NDSleuths for being a absolutely fantastic source for sleuth info. :D

Anyways, the American Girl doll, Molly, is apparently a fan of Nancy Drew! In one of the older Molly sets you could get a miniature copy of The Quest of the Missing Map with the original cover art from 1942 (Molly’s is from 1944).

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! *takes out noisemaker* 2012 here we are! Is everyone ready for another fun filled year of our favorite sleuth's adventures?

Most newspapers and such like to recap what has happened in the past year, but I'm going to take a slightly different approach and list some of the things to come in 2012, both for the blog and in the sleuth world.

On the Nancy Drew games front, we have the release of Tomb of the Lost Queen just around the corner. News of Castle Finster should be approaching as well. And who knows what HeR has planned in way of contests, puzzles, and the fall game.

As far as new paperback adventures for Nancy and the Hardys, the Girl Detective and Undercover Brothers series finish up in January and February, respectfully. Hopefully we'll see traces of the replacement series before the end of the year, though we probably won't see the first books until 2013.

As far as the blog, I'm still working on the music player, pretty much my only blog improving project. I'm always trying to improve though, so if you have any suggestions, let me know. ;)
