Perusing the board today, I noticed this poll. So, Secret of the Scarlet Hand is the most educational game by popular vote. I can agree with that one, considering I've memorized the Mayan counting system because I've played that game so many times.
And that's just the tip the ice berg, the game manages to touch in on countless facts about Mayan history, including creating a new legend of it's own: the mystery surrounding the monolith. I won't spoil the game for anyone who hasn't played it, but your definitely not going to make it through the game without learning something. Like Morse code or about King Pacal.
The game isn't just chalk full of history, but also science. Anyone remember the chromatographic machine to analyze the hand print? Similar to the one in Alibi in Ashes? REAL! And so is cinnabar, and the Maya really did use it!
Anything else from the books or games someone has discovered to be real?
